Wiring aftermarket DVD unit to parking brake switch
I am ordering a Pioneer AVH-P5700DVD player for my 02 Tl. I've read around about setting up toggle switches to let the DVD player run while the car is driving, but I just want to find out where the parking brake switch for the 02 Tl is located so I could just wire it up to that. Any help is appreciated.

Did you look up the PAC TR7? It takes care of all that crap!!
There are four or five wires to connect to it.
*The parking brake lead from head unit
*The footbrake lead from head unit
*Ground
*12v
*Remote wire
At least for the alpine, The PAC TR7 mimics the foot/hand brake sequence to get the video to display. It may work for your unit also.

Yeah I looked up the PAC-TR7 and I'll end up putting that on in time but for now I've got it hooked up to the parking brake and I set up the parking brake so that the electronic circuit is always complete even if the brake isn't on.

The parking brake switch is simply a manual switch that causes an electric response to complete the circuit. I just made it so the switch would always be one without actually having the brake engaged. On my display on my dash it says "brake" all the time, however the brake is not actually engaged.
