Will these work?
I just bought two 10'' Kenwood subs off of a friend im not sure wat model KFC-2505?? And i just ordered my amp.. Kenwood [KAC-7201] and i was looking through e-bay for the wires and i came across this.. Any good?? and does it have everything im going to need. (Not familiar with car audio and how everything works) check it out.. Amp kit
All valid points but this is a Kenwood amp. That doesn't mean it won't be an improvement. If you're looking for a really cheap upgrade, why the hell not? Why did Acura put such a suck ass system in our nice rides in the first place? Cost. They meet the lowest expectations of the majority of their market. Unfortunately, the rest of us grew up and started bying them. Well, some of us did. I refuse to grow up.
I got my amp kit here. Actaully, i got it in the store. It does not include speaker wire but you aren't hooking up a four channel, are you? (therefore you only need a tiny piece of speaker wire, get that that at Lowes or HomeDepot, get a short piece of 4 gauge ground as well, you should match your ground to your power).
Get good RCA's if you can afford them. Street Wires Zero Noise are excellent at about $12 / pair (15 feet).
You may have noticed I recommend the 4 awg install kit. Over wire your install. I promise, you will come around to the OU Sig and ask yourself, "why have a chitty system in a nice car?" You'll be shopping head units and speakers soon enough.
That being said, and taking us into the future, when you get the head unit, make sure you have three rca outputs (front back and sub) and run rca for all three right from the start (tape the ones you don't use so they don't touch). A friend of mine just had an amp installed at circuit city (butchers) and he has to buy a new headunit so he can control the sub from the front. His head unit is only a few months old.
