When installing a new radio, I need...

Ok, so for Christmas, I was thinking about getting a new radio. Instead of spending money on an iPod hookup, navi, bluetooth, etc.. I just figured I would buy a radio that does it all-in-one.

So here's kind of what I'm looking at
>Here

Yeah, generic, I know. But I really don't have money to buy a nice one.
So this is what else I need to install it, right?
Wiring Harness
Double-DIN kit
RCA cables for factory subwoofer.

Is that the right wiring harness? Crutchfield says so, but I know that our cars have an equalizer, and I don't know if any special wires go to that, or if it's just like a normal car.

In "Product Description", it says "Steering Wheel Controller: connect the steering wheel controller with the car DVD player". So does that mean that it just wires right in, or would I need one of these?

Thanks guys. I've checked the DIY thread, but couldn't find the answers. I'm still a noob when it comes to car audio.

Year and model of the car you have? Navi?

That harness doesn't look right. And from what I've heard the scosche double din kit is better and matches a little better.

Yes, you'll need a PAC-SWIxxx..

Oh, forgot about that. 2000 tl-p without navi, and factory radio. I'll look for that scosche kit then.
What wiring harness do I need, then? And for the steering wheel controller, I can't yell which one would work. They are for certain companies, but none say they work for generic radios?

Whew, the PAC SWI-JACKs are only ~$40 on ebay
And, does this wiring harness look more like it? http://cgi.ebay.com/99-00-01-02-03-0...#ht_2442wt_939

I was thinking 2001+ plus. If it's a 2000 then yes that's the right harness Metra # 70-1721.

If you want to be certain I would call the manufacturer of the steering wheel control harness.

Ok, it looks like I could get it all done for about $400. Good deal for nav, bluetooth, iPod, all that.
I'm waiting for a reply back from PAC now. I'll post what they say when they reply.

Hi Kyle,

looking at your link it looks like a Skypine product from China. It is possible that the SWI-JACK with Valor application could work. It is also possible the the SWI-PS with the Dual application will work. There is no other way of confirming this without getting both module. Please remember that it is also possible that neither of these application will work.

Alright. I'll just wing it and go for the SWI-JACK. Hopefully it works fine. I'll post an install thread once I get it put in.

Last question: So All I need is a piece of an RCA cable to go from the back of the HU to the EQ for the factory sub mod? And will the EQ still be used?
