What's wrong with my subs/amp?!

Rockford Fosgate P1 2x12 Subs
RF R500X1D Amp
KnuKonceptz 4 Guage Wiring Kit

Had the system for nearly a year and it has played fine until this this past week. I'd say about every other time when I get in the car the subs either don't put out any bass for like 10 minutes, work fine for like 10 minutes and then stop, or don't randomly cut out. I know this isn't battery related as my lights have never dimmed due to the system hitting and my car has no problem starting up. Also, the amp is not getting too hot as I have checked that as well. I'm pretty confused to say the least. If anyone could give me insight I'd like to hear it, thanks.

Replace the amp. It's gotta a be the amp... or a loose connection on the subs but I'm sure you've already checked that.?

+1 for jiggling all of the wires and seeing if anything changes

I was wondering the same, until Sunday afternoon. I changed the settings on my head unit and everything has since been fine so I wonder if it was was some signal interference. My settings were Bass -2 and Sub -2. Now they're both at -1. Why this made such a drastic difference, I don't know. On the previous setting I had absolutely no bass for How Low by Ludacris, a song I used to test. Anyway, it's definitely time to shell out the $ for sound deadening.

are you using a line output converter or an aftermarket head unit?

Yes I am. Which model, I'm not sure. Definitely nothing too fancy. And yeah, the comment about sound deadening is because with the subs hitting hard again, the rattles are back haha.

Problem solved: It was the fuse... I never would have thought to check. The fuse was not blown, but what was inside kept coming loose preventing a good connection or whatever you would like to call it.
