Lesson learned: Bought the wrong plugs on Ebay

Just a heads up in case you do an Ebay search for IZFR6K11 and come to this listing:

Honda Acura Genuine Set of 6 IZFR6K11 Laser Iridium Spark Plugs | eBay

My bad for trusting the cross-reference chart on his site and not checking the Honda part # nor taking a close look at the attached pictures.

These are actually IZFR6K11NS and not compatible with 3G TLs.

Did you let the seller know they're not compatible? Can you get your money back?

It's the correct plug according to NGK:
IZFR6K-11-Just a nickel washer
IZFR6K-11S-Stainless steel washer
IZFR6K-11NS-Original plug mfg. for Honda/Acura with the SS washer

I did, waiting for a response....

The Honda part # does not list the TL for compatibility.

I looked for the "NS" on the NGK site, but couldn't find it listed anywhere.

Don't feel bad! It took 3 techs at NGK in Michigan, along with a Japanese catalog to determine the NS designation, but they assured me it was the same. If you look up the plug number, each letter/number references specifics of the plug, so a the number the same, same plug:
https://www.ngk.de/fileadmin/Dokumen...en_code_en.pdf

Couldn't find the NS, so that's why I called NGK.

The application compatibility on the ebay site recognizes the 3G TL as one.
Also, what does the box state? Ebay shows IZFR6K-11.

Just thought I'd add, from the NGK site 3G application:
IZFR6K-11
IZFR6K-11S

Yeah, the chart he is using is wrong. This guy has the right chart:

4 PC NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plug Set for Acura Honda 2 0L 2 4L 4 Cylinder | eBay

The boxes are long gone. The plugs have the "NS" designation on them. Look closely at the photo of the plug, you can see the "NS".

Those plugs were definitely not compatible. I grabbed a new set of NGKs from CarQuest for $45 OTD (BTW, did you know that CarQuest is now part of Advance Auto?), got them installed and my hesitation/misfire issues are gone.

Still working on a refund from the seller. He's stalling so far....

The size, threads, heat range, reach, all the same as indicated by the plug number.
Do you see any visible difference? Probably checked the gap knowing you, but were they all @.044?

Maybe a bad plug? If a misfire, did the MID come on indicating the misfire?

No external difference that I could tell, gap was good. MIL with misfire on all 6.

Looks like they were made for the Australian market and they have a "special grounding electrode" based on that chart you posted.

They do have a weird rust color after being pulled, not sure what caused that.

OK, just confirmed with NGK tech support that the NS are overseas only and that they have an additional copper grounding electrode.

There's also the possibility that these are counterfeit. At any rate, there are several vendors on Ebay selling the NS plug. Buyer beware!!

The seller has agreed to a refund if I send them back. Time will tell if he honors that promise. I'll update when/if I get the refund.

Well, I had to spend $6 to ship the plugs back, but I finally got my refund.

I suspect these are Chinese made counterfeit plugs for 2 reasons:

1. According to Honda, the 9807b-5617w does not cross-reference to the "11NS". It cross-references to the "11" and the "11S", but not the "11NS"
2. According to NGK, the "11NS" is a dual grounding electrode plug, which these obviously aren't. They are made for overseas distribution only.

There are a couple of other guys selling these on Ebay. My advice is to avoid these sites. As I said, Lesson Learned...
