whats a good 10'?
im putting it in the smallest sealed box possible, so it must be able to deal with that.

Here are a few responses to similar questions at www.sounddomain.com :
A couple of small box subs that have good sound quality but still can bump are:
1.boston acoustic pro series
2.infinity perfect
3.kicker solobaric
4.image dynamics idq
Audiomobile Mass 2010, Orion XTR, Alumapro Alchemy, JL Audio, RF HX2, Soundstream Exact.
You might wanna check over at sounddomain.com for more ideas.

"In most cases the 12 will be louder because there is more cone area."

If it matters, I want more bass too and I'm getting a 12" Perfect in a 1ft^3 box.

I HAVE A SEALED ENCLOSURE WITH 3 10" JL AUDIO SUBS AND I THINK THERE ONE OF THE BEST SUBS AROUND. THEY PUMP OUT HUGE AMOUNTS OF BASS, ONLY DRAWBACK IT THE WHOLE THING IS VERY HEAVY.

depends on the sound and the amount of bass you want. you can make ALMOST any sub sound good with the proper enclosure and amp.
i have 2 premier 10' subs and i was thinking about switching 2 jl audio. but i decided to give them a try with a custom enclosure and it sounds great. i'm sure jl's would've given me more bass but i'm happy with what i have.
