What is this wire?

I have been having some trouble with the FM radio on my HU on my 97 accord LX. It keeps fading out and stuff. The Hu is a sony. I am not really looking at dropping any money in this car so don't start hating on the HU or installation job etc, I promise I am not responsible for these
I put the stock HU back in and the radio worked fine so it is either the HU or the wiring harness. I think it is the wiring harness due to how crappy it was installed etc. My question is what is the wire that is circled? It seems to be my problem

Wire is for a power antenna. Activates when AM/FM is selected.

That is the power antenna or remote turn on wire. It can be used for either purpose. If you have a power antenna that goes up and down, then it would control that. It can also control turning your aftermarket amps on and off.

If you have no aftermarket amps and you don't have a power antenna, then it's okay if this wire is disconnected. I forget what the antenna is like on a 97 accord.

its to power the antenna only. if you look at the picture, you can see the remote wire for the amps.

You COULD use this as the amp remote wire, but the amps will only turn on when you are using the FM or AM radio.

i have never had to connect this wire, but i have also never had a 97 honda

Ok so when I connect the above to like a ground I get "ATT on" displayed on the head unit, so I think it is for the romote thing u can get. There is already another wire attached to the power antenna wire. I checked all the connections in the wiring harness and they are all ok. I am running out of ideas
The 97 accord, or atleast the LX which I have, has the antenna in the rear window. I have taken the power antenna wire apart and reconnected it and it is the same. I have also done this for the ground, 12v power etc, all of them but the speakers

crutchfield gave me some ideas but sadly none of them worked.

Oh okay I see. I've never had a Sony car radio before. I'm not as familiar with the wiring harnesses. Some of the other stereo manufactures treat the remote turn on wire and the power antenna wire as the same thing. It's usually the only solid blue wire also.

yea there is a solid dark blue wire i believe for the power antenna. damn sony. i am trying to decide if I should just try a new wiring harness, get a cheap new alpine, give up and accept no radio, or take this somewhere to be looked at.

I think I am gonna just buy a new wiring harness and start from scratch and install it properly this time. I know I can buy the harness from the stock hookup but can I buy the part that clips into the back of the radio then connects to the part connecting from the stock adapter. (I explained that really bad), I am talking about the wiring that goes from the HU to the adapter, can I buy a new set of that?
