What kinda amp to power my subs with??

Hey guys I'm about to install a couple of Fosgate subs in my car; 2 PD412s and are rate at 500 watts max power and 250 RMS each, of course nothing fancy. But I was wonder if some one could give me a amp 101, I don't know much about amps and I was wondering if I would use a Monoblack amp to push the subs. The model that I was looking at is the MTX TC4001, which is rate @ 400 watts RMS x 1 channel into a 2 ohms.

What does that mean b/c I'm going to need at least 500 watts RMS to push both subs and I don't know if this amp is cable of doing that.

So if someone knows a lot more about amps that I do then please enlighten me b/c I don't know jack shyt??
