I want to put in a component system or at least change the speakers in the front, but i don't know what will fit? ANything reasonably priced that will not require modification to the car? Please help me. Thanks.

 

I am planning to try a pair of Polk DX6 on the advice of Southbound from the acura-tl.com site. His best argument is that they fit with only minor modification.

 

I have the Kenwood Excelon 6.5" components. Perfect fit because of the small Neodymnium magnets.

 

For a 2-way component system ... at most you would have to make a spacer for the woofer and mount the crossover. Or like chizad1980 suggested, you could find a speaker with a shallow mounting depth and not worry.

I don't think you have to worry about modifying the car unless you want a 3-way system.

 

What is the model of the Kenwoods you have?

 

MB Quart DSD216 component with 3/4" spacer

They have awesome sound quality, but for some reason I think they should have more mid-bass. But go to a store a listen to them.
