PLEASE do not buy a box that is made for any 12" subwoofer. Get someone to build you a box made to spec for the L7. The specs should be in your manual. If you do get a box that is already built, be sure its a box made specifically for the S12L7. It makes a big difference, bess be lee dat!!

yeah get someone to make you that box... firing down boxes would sound good in like SUV's and Trucks. In a tl or something with a trunk firing back towards the back of your car would be the best. lets the bass have something to reflect off of. so yeah good luck!!!

It would work well, however, I would always go for the biggest box built to spec. I have a '99 TL with a 2.80 cu.ft box tuned to 32 mhz. it bumps HARD for a single 12". The disadvantage to a big box is that the sub may not be able to play some higher bass notes, which can be found in some alternative music. If you listen to rap/hiphop, in my opinion, GO BIG.

Cool tip

Well first i'd like to say i've had both a 12" solo baric and 15" solo baric. One was in my integra and the other in my old cadillac. So i sort of have an idea of what box you may want. I was in your same shoes when looking for a box becuase i've always heard how the right box makes or breaks your system. I ended up buying a SubZero box for both subs. They make different boxes for certain subwoofers and the ones they make for the kicker squares are super nice. They are built really strong with great designs for making the most bass. But at the same time there not gonna be as cheap as a Q-logic box so be ready to spend a couple hundred dollars on it but trust me it will be well worth it. And also figure out what music your gonna be listening to more often becuase like what ErikDaGenErik said, if you want to listen to alternative/rock you may want to go with a sealed box or with rap and trance kinda music you'll definatly want to get a ported box. Well either way good luck and hope my help.
