So, I'm thinking of upgrading the sound in the 'ol CL - it's an '03 cl-s with nav and 6-spd.

Here's the shopping list I put together so far… It's not all set in stone, and have to figure out how to get everything mounted, but it’s the list.

The idea is for more of a stealth install, want to keep all stock look as much as possible in the interior – and produce nice clean, clear, precise sound. I will be dynamating the entire trunk, including the lid and sides.

Amps:
Replace stock with Hifonics ZXi 4406 for the speakers, and a Hifonics ZXi 4006 bridged for the sub.

Speakers:
Fronts – JBL GTO626 2 way & GTO16t
Rears – JBL GTO626 2 way
Sub – Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1

Adapters:
Head unit adapter – Peripheral SVEN4 Line output converter


I’m still researching/debating on a couple items:
Bluetooth connectivity for cell phones – haven’t really found much on this one. I would really like to be able to ‘steal’ the On-Star functionality for cell phone use, but will settle for something else. Not all that interested in anything terribly fancy, just don’t want to wear an earpiece in the car any more.

DVD Conversion – I think the only tricky part would be adding this with the Bluetooth item above.

This site has always been a great source of info for me, so I thought I'd see if you guys had any input, thoughts on the new hotness.

 

There are better choices than JBL. I would also look into scrapping the rears altogether and up the budget on the fronts.
