NOOOOOOOO!

(Read the sticky on the TSX system...)

I think the 500/1 will take a speaker level signal if you're just tapping the 6x9's ... check the manual at jlaudio.com

It does, and it works great! I will be running a 500/1 to my W7 12 as soon as i find time to install it. Ive installed a few 500/1 's in TL's using the speaker level inputs and didnt have any problems. A line converter would probably induce engine noise b/c it wouldnt be able to handle the amplified signal you would be running to it from the tsx's factory amp. If you still want to use a line coverter, audiocontrol just came out with their LC6, which is designed to upgrade premium factory sound systems. www.audiocontrol.com

Waste of time. Why use an LOC in a car with a preamp single-ended signal? Why use an LOC with an amp which has one built in?

BTW, the TSX OE amp does not have more power than an off-the-shelf LOC can handle. At best, it's an 8-channel high-power deck. The AudioControl LC6 is really intended for cars like the Mercedes where the optical digital data bus goes straight into the amp, and you can't get audio signal anywhere except at the outputs of the amp. That's a much more powerful amp than the TSX amp. (Of course, the LC6 has other problems in that situation, but I'll let AC respond to those problems...)

Also, I would differ with you on whether engine noise is caused by an amp overpowering an LOC. Engine noise with the use of LOCs is not caused by OE amps overpowering the LOC.
