500/1 or if you want more options

Fosgate 500bd
Kicker 600.1

but keep in mind since its a 3 ohm woofer u might wanna get a mono amp that is rated at about 550 to 650 watts.

yes the jlaudio 500/1 mono block. the speakers can handle more than that bar graph they use. thats for their protection.

as for the 500/1 it actually rates at 604 rms from 1 ohm - 4 ohms. so its a perfect match.

stinkboy is right.. the jl amp actually produces 600+ watts... jl does not tell you this because it is not consistant for every amp... so jl rates the amp at 500 watts becuase that is what they gaurantee.... all amps are tested before they leave the jl lab and most amps should come with a birth certificate of some sort... i remember my old rockford 225.2 was rated at 225 x 2 @ 2 ohms and actually produced 300 x 2 @ 2ohms...

oh by the way i too would recommend the jl 500/1 or maybe a phoenix gold amp... but your $300 limit seems a little low for a quality amp... but if you want a cheap amp you might want to look at the jbl 600.1... (but i dont understand the concept of spending $400+ on a speaker and then spending $300 or less on an amp... usually it is the other way around...)

I too would recommend the JL 500/1. I have nothing but JL amps in two vehicles and love them. I have two 300/4, a 500/1 and a 250/1. To me, they are just really good, clean, powerful amps.

haha well.. yes. i should spend more on the amp.. but i just bought a new headunit (alpine 9815) so i'm strapped for cash this month. there is a phoenix gold qs series 900watt monoblock going for $225. a hifonics brutus 1000d for about the same. i would definately prefer the jl 500/1 but really, i want an xtant 1001dx to compliment the 2200ix that i have. have any of you guys had experience with the new soundstream taruntula line? how about an mmats amp?

if anything, i'll just wait yet another month to save up for the 500/1 and maybe get a 300/4 too

i would go with the xtant since you already have one... i dont think the jl can compair... as far as the others you mentioned... i have always had good experiences with hifonics... but i dont think you could go wrong with the phoenix gold either... and i have heard good things about the ss tarantula series.... and mmats makes some of the best amps for the price...

xtant
jl
orion(red)
