Post What amp to get for mids and highs?

As i have already said i have a ms2250 1000 watt pheonix gold amp for my lows. What is the best p/gold amp i could get for my mids and highs? Thanx.

P.S. I was origainally going to get a 4 channel 2000 watt amp for everything but which was going to give 1000 watts for mids and highs, simpl;y because they had told me that it was best since i could adjust my gains with my crossover.

Try to go with any amp that has a high pass filter on it.

IMHO get at a 4 channel p/gold amp with at least 100 watts per channel for your mids and highs. Whatever amp you do get make sure the output doesn't exceed the power handling of the speaker.

Example puttting 200 watts into a 45 watt speaker. Can you smell the smoke

The 4 channels will allow you to fade front to back and balance left to right. If you get alot of watts you might want to think about upgrading your electrical sys. aka high output alternator, second bat. stif.caps. etc.

A big system will tax your stock alternator.

Hope the info helps.

personally i never run more than 35-50 watts per channel when it comes to coaxials or separates. a lot of people dont understand that if you go with 100 watts rather than 50 per speaker you will only get 3db louder. it takes 2 times the power to get 3 db louder and 3 db is what is considered to be perceptivly louder meaning that the human ear can detect a difference if the volume increases by 3db. so for a measley 3 db why pump 100 watts to each speaker? all your going to do is start burning up voice coils. and consider the fact that the front speakers are pointing in your general direction anyway. you really dont need a lot of volume to make them loud. the stock TL stereo only has 12 watts per speaker and granted it is not the loudest system 36 watts is triple the power. and at 9 db louder the system will be more than loud enough for most people.

preludeshfan you are right in your post...I recommended the higher watts only because it seemed 3.2tl was going for a high power system. Under most circumstances 50 watts is plenty of power...Different strokes for different folks.
