What amp is best to power these subs?

I am going to purchase 2 phoenix gold 10" (watts rms)500. I want to run a mono block amp pushing 650x1. Would this under power these subs or should I go with a 1200.1 mono block amp to power the subs? I'm gonna run a ported box. Suggestions are very well needed

1200.1 would be your best bet since your subs are both 500watts rms, you'd be pushing 600watts rms to each sub, 200 watts over but its better to overpower your subs than underpower (gives room for tuning). thats one hefty setup you got there, hopefully your amp is rated correctly.

I think the amp is rated correctly. I got the specs from the company's website.

I really didn't want to run that much power in my car. I wanted to only go with 900watts total.

Look for a Elemental Designs 9.1 amp- it gives 900rms at 1ohm and is underrated for around $200- this amp will beat the hell out those subs-
