volume levels when you have phone connected to aux

I have the stock radio w/ aftermarket speakers, equalizer, and a separate amp on a 2003 TL. i use a tape deck aux adapter to listen to podcasts/pandora. I often have to crank up the volume to max, not only on my phone, but also on the headunit. when i crank up the volume at higher levels on the stock radio, the noise is also cranked up.

does anyone else have this problem? suggestions?

I have the same issue. My system is all stock, but I have to turn the volume down a little bit on my Ipod. Those tape deck aux adapters are not the clearest. Did you have to rewire your door speakers? I want to upgrade the door speakers and keep the factory bose unit for a while

it's been many years I couldn't really tell you. I've been debating for years as to whether or not I should get a new head unit or add on some aux input in the back of the HU (i'm not even sure you can do that).

The audio output on most phones suck. And you are trying to use a tape adapter. Bad combination. The only phone I have heard with awsome audio output is the iPhone.
I still wouldnt buy one.
