Video on my Navi

With SteveStMS's help I have made the Video on my navigation work! I used his instructions and a the RGB-1 and the GEX-TV tuner to tap into my navigation screen. I also mounted an AVD-505 monitor to the rear of my center console for rear passangers and it works great. By using the GEX I was able to tap into the navigation by only cutting 4 wires in the wiring harness going down the drivers side sill. If anyone has any questions ask and I will go into more detail. If anyone wants a brand new AVD-505 monitor I have an extra brand new monitor for sale. Anyone in the Orange County/LA area wants to meet up and get some help with installing theirs e-mail me at henrycc@netzero.net.

It was actually kinda easy. The only problem is that there is no on screen display on the navigation screen. There are only four wires to cut and tap from the wiring harness, since I used the GEX-TV box I didn't actually have to solder anything on the circuit board of the RGB-1 unit. I could actually just have used the GEX-TV box on the Navigation screen but I wanted a rear screen and the AVD-505 monitor can be hooked up to the GEX-TV box and the OSD is shown. I will try to take some pictures some time this week and figure out how to post them.

Henry,

Don't mean to rain on your day, but I think some one in their TL tried this and burned out their monitor. Be careful and make sure you cover your tracks if the monitor brakes so you can get warrenty repair done. I know the JDM markett offers a adapter to splice into the monitor with out damaging it. Not sure why it would though. Good luck --=Keith
