Hello all,
I performed the Alpine Type S Speaker upgrade in all doors and rear deck. It sounds fantastic and the bass is definitely better, however I am running into an issue with back deck rattle/vibration when the bass hits.
Whats the point of good bass if the rattle it creates is louder than the bass?
Has anyone successfully quieted this using dynamat or something else?
I didn't want to rip apart the back dash only to find that it didnt help at all.
Thanks!

I spend 2 much time here
i feel your pain, i actually did rip mine apart and put some dynamat, it helped but didn't eliminate rattles completely. eliminating rattles is tricky as hell.
i am seriously considering a hatchback like the subaru STI for my next vehicle just so my subwoofers aren't in a trunk anymore...

An often overlooked item that rattles in cars is the 3rd brake light. That was the problem in my Accords, Prelude and now my TSX. Try wedging a dishtowel or something similar between the light and back glass. Those things rattle like crazy. If that's what it is, you can come up with a more permanent solution like moleskin or something similar.

Three Wheelin'
I put that air conditioning spongy weather stripping between the subwoofer and the rear deck which pretty much the rear deck rattle on my 2nd gen TL about 9 years ago. It was more annoying than the rattles the car had. Has been silent ever since. Good luck.

if you do go the sound deadening route, only stick with the following:
dynamat xtreme
second skin
raamat
though I hear second skin outperforms xtreme, but is quite a bit costly
