I have a 99' tl and just installed an alpine navigation system, I found my speed sensor wire on the transmision, there was a green and a blue wire located under a black protective shield, the "Blue" wire worked for me. I used an opening in the fire wall to run my wire to the nav unit, I hope this helps.
