use capacitor or distribution block?
use capacitor or distribution block?
i had my cap hooked up to just my sub amp. now i have my amp for my components. do i run that amp off the cap too or does it not need it? sooo should i use the cap as the distribution point or should i distribute with a block after it goes through the cap? let me know what i should and shouldn't do
thanks
thanks
Personally, I'd ditch the cap completely and just use a distribution block right before the amps... and if you have issues, upgrade the alternator. From what I've read caps are all show, no go...
i had a similar setup in my old car and plan to install in my new car.
from the battery i ran the 4 gauge wire to the cap and then to the distribution block. the block then split it to go to each amp.
i am pretty sure the caps do something. i noticed also that my lights would not dim once i installed a cap, so the amps were pulling some power from the cap.

You can use either the cap or a seperate distribution block if you want to. I usually like to use a distribution block because it can be hidden while capacitors are usually something people like to show off.
I would ditch the cap also, but it does work in some situations.
