USA_Spec & car battery drain

has anyone here had problems with their car battery with the USA_Spec ipod interface installed?

i ask because the ipod is charged at all times, even if the car is off. how much drain would the ipod put on the battery?

i know i'm probably just being paranoid, but i've heard that the TSX battery is pretty weak. but could it be THAT week?

I thought i read somewhere that the USA spec charges the battery for an hour after the car is turned off to ensure that it is always fully charged.
Auto Charge - Charges iPod battery and auto stops after 1 hour of non-use.
is that the same thing?

I have a Honda Ridgeline and just had the battery replaced b/c it kept going dead. I thought it was due to the fact that it's a second vechile and I don't drive it for 4-5 days. But now that you mention it, I do have the USA-Spec interface. I don't even have a iPod plugged in most of the time and something appears to be draining the battery.

I am actually looking into this device, but can't see why it would even need to charge the iPod 1 minute after the car is turned off. I mean, the thing is charging the iPod when it is connected and the car is on, so why bother after it is off, too?

it charges it after because when in use it drains more battery than the charge that comes in. especially if you leave the backlight on. i have had the USAspec since a week after i bought the car and have never had a problem with battery drain issues. and im running the stock crap battery.

I recommend the USA Spec adapter, I really like how it works so far and haven't had any issues with it. When I first got it I had problems getting the iPod to work but I called USA Spec and they sent a new cable which resolved the problem. My problem is that it's installed in my second car which I only drive on weekends so something is draining my battery, just don't know what could be doing it.
