USA-Spec PA11-HON2 Engine Whine?
I've got the PA-11 Hon2 hooked up to my car and it works great! However, does anyone else hear a engine whine when you listen to an AM station? If you don't where to you have the unit positioned at? Also, when I've got the stereo selected to use the Ipod, with the volume turned down, I can still hear a very faint whine, but it's so faint I don't hear it when I'm listening to the Ipod with the volume turned up. The only problem so far is really with AM. Any help? Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Is this your stock AM radio, or is this an AM radio that's hooked up to the aux inputs of the USASpec module? You probably just need a GLI (ground loop isolator) to go between your aux input and the USASpec module. I don't know if there's anything you can really do with regards to the iPod whine since that's a direct hook up to the module (i.e., I don't think there are any GLI-type devices that can be used in between the iPod and module).
Btw... what vehicle?

I also have some slight engine whine with the USA SPEC, but on FM radio. Strange thing is it seems to come and go. It is definitely the USA SPEC because it immediately goes away when I unplug the unit. This is on an 04 TSX using the factory radio.

There is an ECU below the radio on the hump that is a known emitter of electromagnetic interference. Move your module as far as you can from that airbag ECU.
Also, make sure the metal case of the USA SPEC is not grounding to any metal. I've seen one in a Volvo that had noise ONLY when the module was screwed to metal.

I'd stick to the original location, but try fabricating something to shield it, or do a better job of stuffing the wires up behind the CD player instead of letting them hang.
