Upgrading Speakers

hey guys,

im thinking abt upgrading the speakers but not interested in getting a system up. I just want to tweak it to get a little boom.

What are good components systems for the front 2 speakers and what are the good 6x9 speakers for the rear?

Also, if i upgrade the speakers, is it mandatory to change the headunit and to get an amp for the speakers? If im missing anything else, please let me know. Thanks

The reason is probably because your question is just a little too general. Here are a couple of questions you could try answering first:

1. How much do you want to spend?

2. What type of music do you generally listen to?

3. How much installation work are you willing to do/have done?

4. How much trunk space would you be willing to give up?

5. Do you prefer very bright sounding speakers or ones that are more laid back (smooth)?

We would be glad to try to set you on the right path but you have to remember that audio is a very subjective topic. What sounds good to me might sound like ass to someone else...

I went with MB Quart Speakers. The DTC 169 for the rears 6X9's
and for the front bought the MB Quart QSD 216. Total cost from a store would be almost 1500. Ebay cost 600

Hey X3.2CLSX,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I was pretty busy this weekend. I forgot to ask if you already have an amp for your system or not. If not, would you be willing to get one? How much do you want to spend on an amp?
