See what happens with a single 18" BTL in a good box on proper power?

my sounds like that too when I run my BTL @.5ohm. My amp is putting out 2200w @.5ohm. And my box is 6.3cubes after port and speaker displacement.Tuned to 32hz with 4"x10"x11-1/2"port.But I'll also be running 4 12's with 1600w.That is a perfect example for me.Mine slams hard.

Have you clamped your amp to get those numbers? From what I've heard, the bxi series doesn't do rated power. Therefore, you're not getting 2200w out of the 1600...

I dont know anything about how much the power that is gained by droping to .5ohm.but a guy at the stereo shop said it should be like a 40%gain in power.

At a stereo shop... lol

Plus you have to factor in voltage drop, box rise, etc... I'd be surprised if you're getting more than 1500w out of it...

Like I said I dont really know its what I was told when I was inquiring about glass work. And he ask what I was powering the sub with. When I told him 1600w@1ohm but I was running it @.5ohm,thats when he said I would be getting a 40% gain in power if the amp could handle it.And it hasnt blown yet. In between me on and off azine yeasterday,I went to my back yard 75yards away from my house to mess with the settings. Now theres still probally another 30-40yards to the road and a lady across the street and down 4 houses came all the way threw my yard and spilled her guts to turn it down. After 5 minute with her flapping I said no problem. As she finnally leaves my sight, cops pulled up.I shut off the car and made the walk up to them. All they said was whys your car way down there.I told them I was trying not to bother the neibors. They were laughing how I could possibley even bother her,and they were off.I dont know if this was a good example.but distance wise must be almost 2 city blocks

yes they do have a 3500 that's already shipped the first round of pre-orders, and they're currently running a 2nd batch of pre-orders on the 3500... But there are at least a couple of SPL guys that were running several 3000D's that are selling them for pretty cheap to pick up 3500D's... That would be your best bet, imo. I'd go with what eggy said, and sell those Pioneers and pick up either a 3000D or a 3500D. Then that BTL will really get loud...

I'm sure it would, but mine gets plenty loud. And when the 2nd amp is running I'll probally reach my maximum level with out being at max volume. As it is now when I turn it up just about everybody says turn it down.

I'm going to pull the 6x9's to vent the 18.And thats about all she's going to get.I dont want the car to look sloppy by hacking everything up.My goal is to finish the seat back,as it will be getting droped of this morning.getting the box wrap to match the seat also.then start on the rear passenger panels then back to the trunk.and somewhere in between get alt and a coulple of batterys.or maybe only 1 kinetik 3800 .That should do me but 450-500 for a batt is hard to swallow.I want the car to be worth more so that it can be balancing the droping vaule of the ride, when its paid off.The car will be paid in another year and I want a 05-06rl so bad to start on.

Wow... You're trying to add value to your car? Yeah, that's working...

As for batteries, check out Northstar Batteries. They're heavy and pretty expensive (can be had for pretty cheap if you know where to look) and they're some of the best out there.

Yeah, you should only need 1 good set of components on proper power... I just put in a comp set for a buddy of mine in his truck, and the sound sweet. Only running front speakers, and it still sounds good...

How did you pull that one off? Full wall right behind the B-pillar in a SS 1-2 style build? There's really no way that should happen... pics/vids or I can bs

well the vid posted that gotta be more than one 10". I'd have to see more of the set up. But if so thats one hell of a box. And if so u hit that hard cuz it's walled. There is almost no chance is his windows cracking or busting. I work at a glass factory youd be surprised just how much glasss will actually flex.

I'm with you dude. Pioneer~saturn from caco lives like 30 minutes from me... I've been in his car with the 2 18's in the backseat area doing 150 db on a TL legal sealed up, and his glass hasn't come anywhere near breaking...

And that vid says 4 18's...

quick update, got the seat and box back today.I cant share any pics till tommorrow.I was In a rush to get them before me and the wife did the swap with my son.He was loaded in the other car so she took the ferrari to work.It does look sweet. Arm rest is gone.new section was made along the botom to go around the box.And it had me smileing as soon as I seen how good it matched. If I didnt see it before I would not be able to tell foam and leather was added there. Also for 2gens who know what the seat back looked liked. He also built up the sloping part of the seat in between the two sides where the arm rest went in so that it looks beter with the box.But I know words are just words ,but I will put pics of the seperate pieces tommorrow.Just waiting for the dual in and dual out 0 gauge fuse block. So that I have the rest wired for the other amp.mounted boost knob, ran the wire, ran my ground, and ran power wire loose.Need my dam fuse block.
