The ultimate budget system.

I am a high end sq/sql guy. My system in the TL cost me $3550+++with install and everything bought authorized. Now I wanted to see what cheap stuff sounded like.

My sister has a RSX and I want to do a system in it for a awhile so I hit up the internet. I wasnt expected much out of it but damn it sounds good for the money.

Kenwood 1028 cd player $120.00
(authorized)
Profile 3-way speakers front and rear. $39.00
(thezeb.com)
Infinity Reference 12" with box $38.00
(ebay)
Profile 300 watt amp. $74.00
(thezeb.com)
Rockford amp kit and dash wires $25.00
(thezeb.com)

So for $296 this system sounds awesome. Everything was bought new except for the sub and I built the box. I was really iffy on profile stuff but started reading reviews on sounddomain.com and I am very pleased, and I ordered their products. It easily sounds like a $600 to $1000 system. Instead of getting a upgraded factory system from the dealer this was a much better alternative and sounds alot better than the RSX type S's Bose system.

Me singing in the shower in the morning sounds better than the Bose system, and it's probably a damn sight close to those three-ways, too - but I'm glad it turned out well for you. I don't want to bet on the lifespan of that Profile amp, though... I suspect it has essential parts that are made out of those new elements at the right side of the periodic table... the ones that exist only in labs temporarily...

You come up with the cleverest ways of dissing a system.

from an ex profile owner (it literally started a fire in the back of my civic), i would recomend a jl e430 to power everything, and one of the cheaper alpines (with bass engine plus) so you can control the x-overs from the front, time align the left and right front speakers and adjust the amount of bass you want. oh, and the only thing smoking in the car will be your sister (if she's hot that is). smoking hot sisters are cool (at least for your friends), smoking amps are not..., glad you're enjoying the system though. jps
