tweeter and 6.5 speakers

I'm installing new tweeters and 6.5" door speakers and I want to use the new wires and crossover. How do I get the new wires to the tweeter and door?

You would have to run new wires through stock rubber hose at the doors' hinges. There are two ways to do it. The faster and harder way is put 2 jacks or something at the door level to support the doors while you remove the hinges bolts. Slightly pull the doors away from the body to have easy access to run new wires. The otherway is fishing new wires through the rubber hose using a cloth hanger. If you get lucky, you can do it quick, otherwise, it'll take a while since there is so little room to work. Good luck.

Tweeter Replacement

Can you replace the Tweeter in the Door with the Aftermarket Tweeters or are they too big -- Generally speaking.

The MB Quarts Tweeter / MTX 8000 Units for instance ?

the DSD216's tweeters fit nicely with very minor adjustment. I dont know about other component set since each one has a different dimension and shape.

I was able to fish my wires through the door without a coat hanger. I just taped my 12 guage speaker wire and 16 guage tweeter wire together, separated the rubber loom thing from the body of the door jam and the door, lubed my speaker wires up with some Formula 2001, and slid them through... The trick is lubing up the wires so they slide nicely. I spent an hour on the first door, then after figuring out a technique, 5 mins on the second door.

Do you think that there's much difference between the 1st gen and 2nd gen when it somes to running the speaker wires. It only took me about 15 minutes for each side. I'm not bragging, just wonder if the 2nd gen is more difficult? Thanks.
