Turning stereo on without the key.

My friends x5 and e both let you turn on the radio even without the key. Is there any way of wiring my acura like this and still have the radio turn off when you initially turn the car off?

In other words, I want the stereo to turn off like normal if I take the key out of the ignition, but if I choose to, I want to be able to turn the radion on without the key.

I don't think so.. Nothing that you would drain/kill your battery and make things worse.

It would also help if we had any idea what model and year Acura you had..

Just rewire your radio switched source directly to the battery.

yeah i used to have 01 A4 and had that feature. i can have the radio turn on without the key and it will power on for one hour then shut off so it won't drain all the battery. it's kinda cool

Jonesi, didn't you know that Acura provides automatic protection from voltage drops and spikes off of the car battery when users forget to put somewhere in there that the line should be fused/protected/regulated???

not to mention fires due to shorts if it rains one day...
