TSX: Where to tap in to connect hand/foot brake leads?

I did a search in the forum and I came up with nothing.

Im trying to connect the hand(parking) brake lead and the foot brake lead from my Alpine TME-M770 LCD monitor, but I cannot find any information on where this is done. Does anyone have any info on this?

This is for a 2004 TSX AT.

Thanks,
Dave

Just go to ebay and get the PAC adaptor, so you don't have to tap into the hand/foot brakes and your screen will work while you are driving without the brakes on. That is what I did with my Alpine TME-M790. The one that I bought also came with a switch for the adaptor, so if I was ever pulled over I could flip the switch to off and the screen would say turned off for safety.

Or, to hook it up the right way, the park brake wire comes off of the parking brake in the center console and the foor brake wire comes off of the foot brake switch on the pedal arm.

Do you have a voltmeter? (Like you should if you're installing?) THe park brake wire shows a ground when the brake is on and the foot brake wire shows a hot when the brake is on.

Yes, I do have a voltmeter, but my problem is just finding the location and the correct wires to check.

When you say that the wire "shows a ground" does it mean that it will have a current when not pulled but will not have a current when it is pulled? Im not too familiar with the terminology...

not that I encourage--

However, If you want to get it to work at any time..just ground the wire along with your other HU groundwires. You can play the dvd's while in motion, but I would recommend not doing it unless you can keep your eyes off the unit.

Best.

Yes. So the parking brake will have a current when it is not engaged.

It will show +0 or no current, when the parking brake is engaged (ie. when you have pulled it up)

I just pulled a TSX center console cupholder to check something on an SHOND install, and there is only ONE wire coming off of the parking brake. It is in a wire tie with the two wires off of the 12V plug in the center console.

It's pretty easy to figure at that point, I think.
