Hi Guys,
Bass levels on the TSX are pretty weak, they dissort big time at higher volumes.

I was wondering if anybody tried to upgrade the stock 6x9's on the back to something better? and how did u find the results?


Also, I have the TSX without the Navigation, I was wondering if the sound system has an output for an external amp in order to install a sub woofer.

Yes a lot of people have changed the 6x9's. The search button will come in handy. Most people have been happy with the upgrade but there are a few that wanted more bass than they got. For them a subwoofer is the best setup.

As for adding an amp and subwoofer, most people (including myself) just use a line output converter (LOC) that takes the input from the 6x9's and attenuates it down to line level for the amplifier. Works like a charm and is pretty easy to set up. The LOC is only $20-$30 so it's not that expensive. There isn't a line level output directly from the front head unit. Some people have managed to splice into the wires from the head unit into the front amp with mixed success.

 

The signal is line level, but has major noise issues.

 

I probably should have said there aren't any RCA jacks on the back of the head unit.
