hey does anyone or has anyone kno of a way to altar the trunk torrsion bar so that it doesn not pass under the sub woofer therefor allowing you to put in a much larger woofer there?

 

no...but someone has instale da gas strut to hold the trunk open

 

Yup, we've done it. And like njtls said, with gas struts. Not as easy as just taking out the torsion bars and popping a gas strut in....what we did was make a mount out of 1" steel, weld it together, and then welded it inside the trunk with the gas strut attached to it. You have to get the angle and the throw right too. I'll take some pics and post so you can see what's involved.

 

i want to remove my torsion bars also. ive done the strut mod before, when i had amps mounted on the trunk lid and they work slick.
