trunk rattling
i have 2 powerful 12" power dvc's and they are hitting very hard. its making my trunk rattle like a mofo...which really sounds ghetto if your standing next to my car ahaha oh yeah, i have a first generation TL, so is there any solution to this besides dynamat? i read in the 2nd generation forum about trunks rattling but some of them said its just rattling because of roads..not music. someone said its those rubber stoppers and those 2 medal bars touching each other. any help would be appreciated, thanks

Well if you decide to put some sound deadening stuff in your car...I recommend Brown Bread...its sold at www.b-quiet.com ...it is extremely easy to put on and works a lot better than dynamat which I previously had in my car before Brown Bread...once you put it in...your trunk shouldn't rattle anymore..

I would also recommend using some Dap, which is expanding foam. Many have used it to fill in gaps such as in the trunk lid. Other brands have a habit of expanding too much, even if it says minimal expanding.
Then I would recommend using some sound deadening mat. The cheapest is probably Peel and Seal which can be found at Lowe's and Home Depot in the roofing section. Others include RaamMat, Cascade, McMaster, Dynamat, etc. along with the Brown Bread that hornyleprechaun suggested.

i got first gen tl too.. know what i found the ratling was from... the plate over my exhaust... check it out.. maybe for u too.. gotta weld it back tight... other wise the air that goes over the holes in ur trunk is what making it rattle hallow... dynat mat and all that stuff work.. but as long as u fill in the holes the rattling goes away... so wanna know what i used???? old socks and underwear... not a rattle or bump or hollow to the ear... check it out man it worked for me... and alot cheaper than dynamat too.. just used my underwear with holes.. or socks that had holes... pretty ghetto huh...

kamlung: LOL sounds ghetto but ill give it a try. i'll just use my stained ripped up undies! oh and uh...im not really comprehending where you said you placed your socks and undies at. at the muffler?? ill try it out but i believe my rattling is coming from my trunk lid or something. explain where you placed your socks and ill try it out.
austin: what do you mean by "port it into the cabin"? im really dumb at audio terms. i have a bandpass box with the 2 ports on top...facing the factory speakers but the subs are facing the trunk lid (not the back seats). so are you suggesting i turn the box around and have the subs face my back seats??
