Trunk mounted CD changer question

Sorry if this is more of an Audio/Electronics question.

Is it true that the 1999 and 2000 TLs have the wiring for the trunk mounted CD changer already installed from the factory and that the factory head unit is capable of controlling the changer?

If this is true do I have to get the OEM changer from the dealer or could I just buy any CD changer unit from Best Buy or something and have them install it? Or would it be better to buy the changer from another store and take it to the dealer and have them install it?

No, there is no prewiring, you need to run the wires yourself. Or you can place the cd changer under the passanger seat and skip all the trouble of wiring it to the trunk.

Yes the stock HU can control the factory changer but I suggest you get the alphine 6 disc cd/mp3 changer for the price.

You need a blitzsafe adapter for this. You can not use any other Aftermarket Changer without the adapter.

Here is the link to the alphine cd changer

Goodluck 129+240+15 = less then factory cd changer
and you get to play CDR/CDRW/MP3
