Traffic Data Now Appearing on Nav Display

When I first bought my 2015 RDX, I declined to pay for real-time traffic data on my NAV display. My thought was that I would instead rely on Waze or Google Maps for real-time traffic data. So for the past 3 years, I've gotten used to no traffic data showing on my NAV display. A couple weeks ago, I noticed that real-time traffic data (red, yellow, green indicators) was being displayed on my NAV, just for freeways. My wife has a 2012 TL and she noticed the same data suddenly appearing on her display. We still are not paying anything for this data. Has anyone else noticed this change? Has Acura changed their policy and decided to provide traffic data free of charge?

I still use Waze and Google Maps since they provide more detail than what is shown on my NAV display. But I'm interested to know why it changed.
