MISC: Tracking Device..... any tech guru?
Tracking Device..... any tech guru?
My apology if posting at wrong discussing site.
Anyone had experience with GPS (or GSM SIM card) tracking devices? I did a search on ebay, and there are over 1000 listings.
We have several delivery vans at work. Lately we have issues with fuel consumption and on time deliveries. We are thinking to put tracking devices on each van and analyze where the problem is. Hopefully we can improve efficiency from the data.
Has anyone used such tracking device? Any suggestion? Please note that we are not a huge corporation, and have limited budget. Something that can help us to track route history (with enough accuracy) is probably good enough.
thanks in advance.

I've used these on delivery vehicles:

They're great for sticking on the roof.....in fact I think we've even hidden these on vehicles and they've worked. While you can't track them in real time on a computer, they have a HD and are quickly downloadable for route tracking, shows stops, duration, etc.
And, they're pretty cheap. Think we got a few used on eBay for about $100 each a couple years back.

I recommend AirIQ Tracking Systems. Best ive seen and you can track in realtime. $200 for the unit and one year and i forget how much after that. But heres the link.
