Top 3 Amps

To follow up to the "top 3 subs" thread, I figured I'd ask another question. What do you guys think are the top 3 amps that fit my criteria (able to put out at least 1000 watts RMS to each channel). For example, if it was a one channel amp and put out 1500 watts, then that would be in this category. If it was a two channel amp and put out 2100 watts, then it would be in this category. But for example, if it was a 2 channel amp and it put out 1600 watts, then it wouldn't fit my criteria. All input is appreciated!

not sure the specs on these amps, but i know these amps fall under the category of 'best amps' out there

check this out
http://www.arcaudio.com/arc-05/amplifiers/xxk_1500.htm

great amp for a great price. Also look out for amps by US Amps, Zapco Ref series, Diamond Audio.

i mean, if you want the top 3 amps w/ price not being a factor, then probably like sinfoni, brax, helix....but those amps are ridiculous expensive!! only worth getting if money truly is not a factor (meaning you're rich as HELL!)

once you get beyond swap meet amplifiers, the biggest determinant of sound quality will be your front speakers: their quality and where they are mounted. 99% of all amps you will be using will be class ab, and as long as they are driven within their capabilities, it is unlikely that you, or i, will be able to hear much of a difference at freeway speed. if you want something different try a hybrid tube amp which does have a different sound (due to its different distortion qualities). for subs, use class d amps: more power, less size, more efficient than class ab amps. the slight loss of sq of the class d amps won't matter unless you are trying to win an sq championship in iascca or usaac. jps

To go off-topic for a moment. one of my vendors has introduced full-range Class D amps that are very small. The 50x4 is 1.5" tall and 7x8 footprint. Can't wait to try it out : )

I have the Helix Precision, Brax's baby brother and it is a bulletproof amp. Incredibly well made.

Personally I think this thread is useless. Give us some reference point other than "the best"

Here's a Brax Platinum for sale that fits your requirement. He only wants $4000 for each. It's a steal.

Ok, I sorta misrepresented my question. Basically, if I have 2 12" JL W7's, what amps would be the best to power them? If you could, please tell me what kind, and how many I should use (1 or 2).
