many people have kept the stock hu...you will have to replace all wiring. You can put in amps, subs front and rear speaks...video to nav....you can do anything you want even by keeping the stock hu.

kman156 - I replaced everything but the Bose and added an EQ, spkrs, sub & amp (check my sig). If you go the top of the Audio Forum page you can use the pull-down menu to Display ALL TOPICS in this forum. You'll see many topics on adding to the Bose plus pics of our installs.

Thanks man I thought of doing the Bose first too....but the face of the head unit is integral to holding the center dash and wood trim together. Clip slots and screw holes are molded into the the plastic face (underneath the wood trim). Plus the Bose goes well with the rest of the interior and no one can can tell what I have in the trunk! There's a lot to consider when replacing the Bose - you'd have to make a custom brace to hold the new h/u and make sure your wood trim has a place to clip in and make a new face plate from ABS, plexi, etc.
