Thumbs up TL Bose Stereo

I really liked how the stock Bose system on the 2000's sounded but it just did not have enough bass.
I added a small amp and bass today and it really put the finishing touch on the sound system.
Kicker amp and Kicker comp subwoofer.
I was able to leave the Bose Subwoofer intact.

I left the Bose 9" woofer hooked up for months. A couple weeks ago I took it out and I think it sounds better.

Question

Black TL

Please provide some details on your setup. Cost, wiring, dealer or home install. Sounds
like a nice way to add some juice without going overboard. Where did you purchase your components, and why did you decide on this setup?

Thanks

Yup, it would allow more air to flow into the cabin.

I had a BMW 3 series before I got the TL and I also had a Kicker sub and amp. I liked the little extra thump it provided.
The AMP is the Kicker Impulse IX252 and the SUB is a Kicker Competion 10" Sub. The Sub is enclosed in a box and the amp is sitting on top.
The whole thing cost 229 installed. The AMP is their entry level but I can't turn my stereo up all the way now because it's way too loud for my old ears. I am very happy with this setup. No clarity of sound was lost with this install.
Again, I had them leave the Bose unit alone; just adding the amp and sub to the existing system.

I forgot your question on the dealer. Most any reputable store should match this price. I have seen the AMP and Sub on Ebay for much less than I paid (buyers remorse)!

I plan on doing the same thing. I am not touching the factory bose system. I am doing a custom install in the trunk so it would not look outta place and just unique.

If I was starting with a deck, I would get something that plays MP3's.
As for the speakers, MB Quartz are probably the best. If you want a matched set, check out the Sony Xplod - AMP, SUB, and Speakers.
