Post to those who have a box

did you mount it or does the friction between the carpet hold it?

do you find that it moves around on cornering? what did you do to secure it?

the friction of the carpet isnt usually good enough to hold it. on my last car i screwed it to the panel that covers the spare tire.

I have a JL12W3 in a box from JL. It sits upright behind the NAV in the trunk. It does slide a little, but the NAV really keeps it from travelling much at all.

i don't recall the fabric in the trunk but in my last car i used velcro fixed to the bottom of the box and that held it quite well. I wound up using tack nails to hold the velcro on because the sticky part wasn't strong enough

unless you speed through corners, you should only have minimal movement without fastening your box. fastening the box to the spare floor board would be a good idea.

Screw it down. You don't want that thing sliding all over the place...it will wear out the carpeting on the box and the floor over time!

what i do is make a new piece for the trunk so it is more sturdy put carpet on it and the hinges so you ca still get your spare tire out and screw it to that
