Question Those with Climate Control, how did you get a Double DIN to work?

With a custom face, how did you get the climate control to hold and stay in place properly with your HU? I'm still confused on how this works since the stock HU actually anchors the climate control.

Does it just rest on the kit? I think you bolt the glue to the brackets and it sits on top nicely... just a guess until I have to get in there.

Let me know how it goes.

Glue will not work. Now only do the screws on the stock HU help keep the climate control in place, but it also allows it to sit flush on the dash.

Any help anyone?

Trying to remember this - I did one with a Alpine screen in place of the main screen and an Alpine 701 controller and a 5210 DVD in the dash.

I thought the bottom of the controller fit the top of the Metra kit... I remember shimming the LCD but I don't remember anything special about the climate control. Probably made backstrap brackets that mounted on the sides into the Alpine ISO holes?
