04' Abyss Blue TL is on the way with Navi, should be in next week. I would like to know if anyone has had work done to their car with the installation of new midrange speakers and subs. I have a JL 1000.1 for subs, JL 300.4 for mids and highs, 2 12W6v2's subwoofers and 2 sets of Infinity Kappa 6.5 components. Anyone know the size of speakers that are in the doors and the rear lid and measurements of them? Also is it going to be a big deal to install the amps with the DVDA system in there or can I just tap into the signal wires coming out of the EQ and run RCA cables from them into my amps?

 

Thats more or less what I'm planning on. A JL 1000/1 for the subs, a 450/4 for the front 3 chanels, and a 300/2 for the rear. I plan on taking the high level outputs from the head unit and cut them before the factory amp. Install Line convertors and run RCA's to the trunk. I will then mount the X-overs for the front speakers where the old amp was. I don't know the speaker sizes, I have a post in the stereo forum waiting on replys. Hope this helps.

I "think" that the speakers 6.5s. You may have to be creative with the tweets in back since the mids are deck-mounted.

Don't have my new one yet, but one thing that worked out well in my '99 was to remove the rear-deck mounted sub and cover the opening from below with speaker cloth then run my sub in the trunk in a box. That allowed direct access to the cabin.

One thing for sure - when I do my new install the rear deck is going to get plenty of sound deadening material based on what I'm hearing about rattle sna resonance.
