Switching 6x9 to 6.5
Switching 6x9 to 6.5
Does anyone have a template or a link to a website that sells a 6x9 to 6.5 adapter for the rear package tray? I've decided I don't want a sub, but I'd like bass to come out of the rear package... 6x9's kinda suck, so it's off to look for a 6.5... but first, i need a good bracket to mount the 6.5's in. I've done this before by building my own with bondo, but I don't really feel like doing that again...
thanks
thanks
Here - Backet Adapter
Look in your trunk where your speaker magnets are hanging down.. in some acuras there is a bar directly under the speakers. 75% of aftermarket speakers (even 6.5's) will NOT fit under there due to the bigger magnets hitting that bar. If this is the case youll have to build a spacer to raise them up a little.
It's pretty easy - get your factory speaker grilles and trace them, cut it out, and put your new 6.5 speaker and trace it in the center of that and cut it out. Then just get some carpeting and youre all done.
BTW.. if you mostly listen to rock/metal, quality 6x9's are definitely your best choice. choosing 6.5 or 6x9's should be based on what kind of music you listen to.
