He tries to use his "skills" for his own advantage by saying he'll be nice and "cut you a deal" if you mess around with him, why you ask? Oh, he'll more than tell you he already has enough money. Girls, just use that as an fyi if you're considering getting anything from him. I'm sure all the guys would be fine though, after all, it's apparently just a stupid idea for girls to even know a thing about cars.
It never worked for me when I was single.

I swear, all the "car guys" here are so nice and respectful and they'd never say anything near what he said to me. You guys seriously need to keep your pants on and grow up; good God.

Orion's new 10" DVC high end subs are sick 2000watts rms, awesome. Kicker solobaric DVC's are also nasty, but my favorite is the Eclipse Titanium DVC's. Any of these brands and you can't go wrong. As far as amps Orion, Kicker and Eclipse all make some high quality amps to match there subs full potental. Go on e-bay and you can get two 10" Eclipse titanium 10" DVC's for about 550-600 shipped and an Eclipse 2 channel rock soild for about 400-500 shipped. If you want something extreme get one 15" is a nice enclosure and a matching brand monoblock class D amp. You can score that for a G!

Orion and Kicker have both seen their best days in the rear-view.

Unfortunately, I'm old enough to have been there.

Of the three, I'd only use the Eclipse, and I expect them to muck that up any day...

I know the guys at Sound on Wheels carry Directed and PPI amps, but who were you talking to about the Orion amps?

So, I got everything installed, my amp, box, and sub, but the guys kinda seemed a little shady. Apparently there's a rubber grommet that you're supposed to cut a hole through the middle, and they cut it on the side b/c I guess it's easy to slip and cut a wire when you cut though the middle. Problem: the freakin' hole's right next to my transmission, so now I can hear that and the road - LOVELY. Also today, my NEW alpine head unit fucked up and the tilt wouldn't work right so I had to go have that replaced. I swear, I've never been to so many car stores in such a short time, they all know me by name and voice now hahaha...

batman, directed now owns ppi and orion. both ppi and orion were highly thought of back in the day. now? i don't know but i heard they moved all their manufacturing off shore and let go lots of people in the phoenix area. someone else (el dude?) on the inside of the business will know how each (directed, ppi and orion) compare with what they used to be and how they are similar/different from each other now. jps

ps. i believe the designer of the classic ppi amps designed the /(slash) jl amps

What kind of an Acura do you have. I am not familiar with any Acura having a grommet that big.

3.0 cl, but i think it's just that big because they didn't cut the hold directly through the middle of the grommet, it's offcentered and to the side so now i get road and transmission noise. I had no idea that the hole was there until i took it to the shop but i about passed out when i was hearing the transmission. so far, i've had 3 in my car so i about died when i recognized the sound hahahaha

They want to look at the grommet and make sure it didn't pop out.

Image Dynamics Is where its at its nothing underated U know u have a good sub when you can send 1500 watts rms to it and watch it buckle with no sound distortion I personally run 2 12 inch IDQ D2 V2 and a Earthquake at 1000watts rms thats a real 1000 not a jensen 1000

I wish some of you guys would throw in a few of the above for the old men like me.

IDs are good. Not magic, but good.

Earthquake... those dudes are funny. They're in Hayward, right? Not my faves, but they work.
