Question Sub woofer and Amp questions

I have a 03 TL and i just installed an Eclipse 5510 into the car. The installer said that after installing the unit, i will loose power my stock sub. They said that if i want to keep the sub then i would need to install an amp to power the stock sub. They install the smallest amp they have which is 600w amp. but they said the sub can't take it because the amp is too powerful. I just want to keep my stock Sub, so can anyone inform me how small of an amp will i need inorder to pull the stock sub without it making the sound all distorted. will a 200watts amp be ok or 100wat amp? thanks for the help in advance....

can't say for sure, but I'm assuming the stock sub can't handle any more than 100 watts. You should be fine with that.
