streeteffectz... i need your advice please

I took out my stock kicks the other day and the passenger side has the ABS computer sitting there. i'd like to extend the wires and put the computer somewhere else. my plan was to cut each individual wire, soder in an extension (or simply use butt connectors..), then cover with heatshrink. will this affect the computer in anyway? do you reccomend sodering it or will butt connectors be good enough. i don't plan on extending it any more than.. say 6 to 12 inches.

also.. have you ever built a fiberglass enclosure to fit in the spare tire well with the spare tire still in it? just wondering if its feasible....

thanks for your help! btw, how is the progress on your personal car?

You can definitely extend the wires, but.....

MAKE SURE you disconnect the battery FIRST, and let the car sit for about 15 minutes BEFORE you unplug the computer. Also, when you disconnect the battery, take the negative terminal off first, then the postive, and when you hook it back up, the positive first and then the negative.

As for extending the wires.....definitely DO NOT use butt connectors....solder each wire and heat shrink individually. Butt connectors are asking for trouble....if one wiggles its was loose, and you lose a connection, you take the chance of throwing off the computer.

Nope, never built fiberglass enclosure on top of spare...although it can be done with out a problem.

My TL goes back off lease in a couple months, it's STOCK again

that sucks about your lease ending, are you planning on getting another? also, don't you have a jeep or something like that? i saw pics of a fiberglassed dash.. thought it was yours.. either way, very nice work!
