Strange Amp problems with high level inputs

I'm using a amp to power a sub in a 03 CL, while retaining the stock bose system, I'm got the rear speaker lines taped and hooked up to a line level converter. Everything was working fine for a couple of years, but all of the sudden I was getting no sound out of the sub. Thought it was the amp, replaced it, but now have a different issue, I can only get the sub pumping if the rca's from the line level converter are half way in, I think the line level converter might be mucked up...But was looking for possible suggestions....

if it only works if the rca ground is not touching, your LOC is bad or your amp is bad.

Probably LOC since the amp is brand new, the amp has high level inputs, my splices are after the factory bose amp, can I feed them into the amp high level inputs and call it even?
