Stock Radio Reception
I dont know if it is just me, but the factory hu sucks! Not only does it have a hard time with my CD-R's, my reception is really bad. Does anyone have the same problems? If so whats the solution? (and dont say replace it cuz Im working on that...but I have priorities, like a big freakin sub!) Thanks for your help!

do u have tint or better yet titanium tint on ur back window??? cause sometimes that causes interference with the signals... check ur antenna connection.. i have no probs with CD-R's or radio... another thing u can do is burn ur CD at slower speeds that helps too...

I don't have problem running CD-R on the OEM HU. The only problem I have is the AM Radio. I listen to the news and stock market plus traffic report every morning on the way to work. When the car passes underneath an overpass, the AM radio will make a loud noise. It's like an airplace passing by. I am not sure how to fix this. I don't have the problem when I drive my Jeep Grand Cherokee.
One more thing ... the Nextel Phone will cause interference to the AM/FM radio system as well but not other phones.
Cheers !!!
BTW, I just broke the 100 posts.

That's just the way AM works...
AM is a line of sight type of signal..it doesn't bounce off the atmosphere and buildings like FM does...and it certainly doesn't come down from the heavens above like XM.
If you ever see a bunch of towers all together, it's probably an AM antenna farm, since the antennae are unidirectional.
If you pass under 3 feet of reinforced concrete, you'll lose the AM station
