Question Steve: Video on my Navi - Version 3?

Steve:

Did you ever get that Pioneer GEX box to fully work with the factory navi screen?

Are there any other boxes similar to it that include multiple inputs and FM mod built in? Just wondering...

A question for Steve or others who may be familiar with GEX-P7000 decoder:

1. Is it really necessary to be able to see the on-screen menu? In other words, can you set up the tunner or change channels with the remote and without having to see the setup screen?

2. Isn't the on-screen information already decoded into the RGB output signals going to your display unit? Why do you need an extra circuit to do this? What is the difference between this and your VCR setup screen displayed on any TV?

I'd really prefer GEX-P7000 over the RGB1 decoder because of all its built-in features like the tuner and also that you can install it next to your Navi unit. Thanks in advance for the response.
