Have a 2000 TL and about a week ago I started having some strange problems with the radio. I went to start it one morning and the stereo wasn't working and asked me for the code. I put it in, an other than losing all my presets, it worked fine.

Then about 2 days ago the stereo actually stayed on after I turned the ignition key and I removed the key. I started back up and shut down and it went off, but then it reset again and I had to put the code in.

Now it seems to be resetting just about every time I turn the ignition off. The next time I start up, I have to enter the code and pre-sets are gone.

I assume it's some sort of electrical/fuse problem with the stereo and it's losing power. This something I can check/fix on my own, or should I just head over to the dealer?

 

Seems odd.. weird... Does the connection to your battery have a lot of corrosion on it?

 

Popped the hood today and checked. One of the terminals had a bit of corrosion, but not much. I pulled the cables, cleaned everything off and we'll see if that clears it up.

if that doesn't help, i would say next step would be to check the radio fuse...

 

Alright, so, a new wrinkle to this issue. Last week or so, the stereo has started acting up. Often, none of the buttons will respond at all and sometimes even if I turn the ignition off and pull the key, the stereo actually stays on.

Any thoughts?
