steering wheel controls

I just had a Alpine 7998 installed the other day and i'm really starting to miss the steering wheel controls. Is there an adapter that will allow use of the steering wheel controls?

PAC makes an interface and reportedly, can be directly connected to some alpines for a more reliable connection than using IR.

i've been thinking about getting a new headunits lately.. and i too want my steering wheel controls..

a remote control probably came with your headunit.. what you could do is find out where the wires from the steering controls are, then disassemble your remote controler and solder each wire of the steering wheels control to the corresponding button on your remote..and hide the controler somewhere under the dash.. i guess that would work..

anybody has the wiring diagram for the steering wheel controls??

the only draw back to those pac adapters is the fact that they are slow as hell.. you press the button and then have to wait a couple seconds for the unit to respond.. kind of annoying to me...

are you using the IR option or is it directly wired into the alpine?
