State Certified Master Installer ?

"State Certified Master Installer" -
is this a real title/certification ?

Today I went to this auto-audio/electronics shop which I was told has been in biz a loooong time.
Tech is on vacation and I got his card. His rate is $75/hr.

If this is the real shizzle then I found the guy to work on my car.

Well, from your sig we can't tell what state you're in. MECP certifies Master Installers but they are not a state agency. I don't know off the top of my head any states that regulate.

Sounds like a ploy to suck money out of you.. I'd rather have a tech that does awesome work then a Certified tech/hack job..
